Creating and sharing a tracking page in PDQ is easy.
Try it to enable shoppers to check in on their order on their own.
You can watch a video, or follow the steps just below it.
Setting up a tracking page
It's a 2 step process, first you'll customize the tracking widget, then you'll add it to a new page on your Shopify store.
Customize your tracking widget
Either paste the link into the URL section of your browser: https://go.pdq.app/workspace/checkout/layout/tracking-page
Or select Delivery Methods and paste 'tracking-page' to the end of the URL
Or
After that, you'll be able to:
- Give the page a name (it's internal, seen by your team only)
- Choose an accent color
- Enter a coupon name and define its availability and conditions
- Enter a Title (seen by customers)
- Enter your coupon code
To enter the Coupon Code, you need to either have one already set in your Shopify Account or create a new one and apply it in PDQ.
Once the customer completes the order, they will get an email. In this email, they can track their order and find the Coupon Code.
As the order status changes, the information will be continually updated, allowing customers to track the progress of their order in real-time.
For example, if the condition 'On time status is late' is met, customers will be given a coupon code for their next purchase, as an apology for any shipping delays.
Note: This option is only available for Shippo accounts at the moment.
Adding the tracking page to your website
- In your Shopify dashboard, add a new page for the tracking page.
- Under apps in the left-side menu, add the 'Tracking page' app to the page.
While the simplest approach is to set up PDQ’s Tracking Page directly as an app block in the Shopify Admin theme configurator, you can also add the widget using custom code. To add the tracking widget via custom code:
- Enable PDQ’s additional plugins script from PDQ’s Checkout Setting.
- Then add the following code snippet into your Shopify theme:
<PDQTrackingPage></PDQTrackingPage>
The widget accepts a URL parameter ?search={param} where param can be any of the following:
- orderNumber
- trackingNumber
Summary
With this new tool, customers can easily track their orders and monitor their status. Additionally, by meeting specific preset rules, they can receive coupons for future purchases. This strategy fosters customer appreciation, boosts retention rates, and drives sales growth for your online store.
